* CRUISE NEWSLETTER #8 -- January 12, 2006 *

Hello Everyone,

We now have our seminar schedule, it will be on Sunday, Monday and Thursday (days at sea) from 9:00 am to 11 am in the Palm Dining Room.  We will be finalizing this schedule during the following week.

Luggage:  When you arrive in Ft. Lauderdale you will need to collect your luggage at baggage claim.  After claiming your luggage put on the luggage tags the cruise line will provide for you.  When we reach the pier all luggage but your carry on will be taken and put through security, then delivered to your stateroom.  This is the reason for the luggage tags with your cabin number on them.

On the last night of the cruise, the cruise line will require that your luggage be outside your cabin by midnight; they then put the luggage in a hold area until they unload it from the ship.  You will then collect your luggage after you disembark on the morning of February 18th.  Just a tip, as you pack make sure that you have clothes for the morning and any toiletries that may be needed during the night and next morning.  We have heard of people packing everything then waking up in the morning with just their pajamas and no luggage.

We will be providing you with bright green luggage tags that identify the luggage as yours, it also makes spotting your luggage in the baggage claim area easier.

Activities and information on board the ship: Each night your cabin steward will leave an information sheet called the Princess Patter.  The Princess Patter will have all the activities and entertainment available for the next day.  It will also inform you of the dress standard for the next night, such as formal, casual or smart casual.  Also it will let you know what time you need to be back on board the ship during the days in port.  Please keep track of the time while in port, the ship will not wait for anyone.

Shore Excursions in Port: You may schedule a shore excursion with the cruise line, or you are free to explore the islands on your own.  Another option would be the shore excursions we have set up as a group.  Whatever your decision, please make sure you are back on board the ship by the time designated by the cruise line.

Reaching you at Sea: Your family or friends may reach you anytime by calling Princess at 1-900-329-7447.  They give them the name of the ship (Caribbean Princess), your name and stateroom number, so leave your family with that information, however each call costs $8.95 per call, plus the cost of the time.  Calls can be very costly, therefore I recommend that they are used for emergencies only, but each of you must decide which works best for you.

Tipping on board: Gratuities cost $140.00 per couple for the week.  These gratuities pay the workers who take care of you during the week, your cabin steward, waiter and assistant waiter.  These people do not make a wage, all they earn are the tips that are paid and since they take such good care of you, you will find that you are happy to pay them.  These charges will be added to your shipboard account each day at the rate of $20.00 per day per couple.

We would like everyone's preference for a dining time.  The cruise line said we could have our group together at 5:30pm or at 8:15pm.  Please let us know which you prefer, we need to let the cruise line know ASAP.  We will go with whatever the majority likes.

See you in 4 weeks!
