Laura Mason Brotherson, CFLE, is the author of a bestselling book on marital intimacy and ONEness entitled, And They Were Not Ashamed — Strengthening Marriage through Sexual Fulfillment. She is a marriage and family life educator certified by the National Council on Family Relations, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Family Sciences from Brigham Young University.

As an author, speaker, and relationship consultant, Laura shares her passion for building strong marriages and families through phone consultations, writing a regular column for Meridian Magazine, publishing an electronic newsletter entitled, "Straight Talk about Strengthening Marriage," and speaking in various venues from couples’ cruises and conferences to television and radio shows. She is the founder of www.StrengtheningMarriage.com.

As a family life educator, Laura has developed and taught a course on strengthening marriage in the Church Education System (CES) Continuing Education program. She developed and co-facilitated a depression support group, and continues to strengthen marriages and families in many different ways. Laura currently serves on the Executive Committee of a new organization called the LDS Marriage Network.

Before marriage Laura worked as a tour guide for BYU Hosting Services. She has also worked as a trainer in the Customer Support division of WordPerfect Corporation and is "Train the Trainer" certified. Laura is currently in a graduate program to obtain her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, preparatory to becoming a certified sex therapist where she will fill a vital role in helping couples cultivate greater emotional, spiritual and physical intimacy within a gospel framework.

Laura Brotherson has served in her church as president of the women's Relief Society organization, as Young Women president, and as Marriage and Family Relations instructor. She currently teaches Gospel Doctrine.

Laura grew up in Cardston, Alberta, Canada; Rigby, Idaho; and Tacoma, Washington. While at BYU she met her husband, Kevin Brotherson, from Bunkerville, Nevada. They were married in July 1991 in the Seattle Washington LDS Temple, and are the parents of three children.

Laura enjoys speaking, writing, reading, family history, computers, and the Internet. She is delighted to have become an American citizen, and takes an active interest in the political affairs of this country. Her commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ is evident in her passion to build God's kingdom by strengthening marriages and families.
